On Week 6, I had a proposal presentation highlighting what my idea is about. And my idea is about helping women manage their eczema during pregnancy. I explained that eczema could be caused by hormonal changes or is a pre-existing condition in a group of pregnant women. And if their symptoms are severe or moderate, eczema may be difficult during a pregnant women’s life. I explained that some women may not be familiar with eczema and may have to be prescribed medication, whilst for those already prescribed, their prescription may need to change. Meaning it could change how they would normally manage their condition. Therefore, would need to be monitored regularly by a doctor.

Linking with the initial research, I explained how I created the survey by taking the research and using it to underline what struggles users have faced with eczema before creating user personas. The main problem factor taken from the user personas is the impact eczema has on daily life for patients and how it can affect doctors when monitoring them. From this, I figured out what the solution should be.

The purpose behind Flare is that it will help women review their conditions by creating an AI feature that will capture new and ongoing symptoms before showcasing results on whether their condition has improved or worsened. From this, it will give an overview of the current situation and also give advice on how the user can manage it. This will be the main feature of the app for users. As for health practitioners, they will be able to receive and track results from the user underlining the current condition remotely and if there are extra precautions, it will notify the doctor for any further examination. These are the only initial feature ideas that I have, the other sub-features would include; a planner/timeline to predict their symptoms throughout the week and a feature that reminds users to use their prescription.

The last slide explains what I am focusing on; the main issues I want to focus on next are further research and surveys before starting any design work. I want to get a clearer of this idea mainly because I think there’s more to develop, especially uncovering a user’s personal experience.

Overall, I thought that I did a decent job during the presentation; I could've practised more and been more confident, however, it is something I can improve on over time. As for the slides, due to the time limit, I thought the slides could've been explained more thoroughly so the audience had a better understanding of the topic and what I am foreseeing. Nevertheless, I am hopeful that the upcoming creative process will go smoothly with the help of my tutor throughout the rest of the semester.
