Taking inspiration from the brand mood board, I've concluded with a set of brand sketches and their variations. Throughout the process, I listened to the advice from my tutor by playing around with different geometric shapes and taking using the pregnancy and eczema keywords to create various designs. Most of the sketches are structured like a baby bump and to incorporate a baby inside the bump or outside, I sketched out hearts, peanut-shaped figures and curved-like lines to present a baby. As for eczema, each sketch would have a unique point (shaded in parts) to represent a ‘flare-up’.
If one sketch has potential, I would develop another variation and try to mix up different ways to solidify the design. This is by making small tweaks like turning a solid design into a line one or adding new extra pieces. After sketching 30 designs, I chose my favourite designs (starred) before cutting it down to 3 designs that I preferred, which are numbers 7, 9 and 13.
Overall, I am pleased with the outlook, personally, these designs are much better than the first brand, since I have gotten guidance and have a clearer view of how I want to picture my brand. Although there are other designs that I like, I think the 3 designs that I have chosen have strong points to them and symbolise the keywords well.
For the rebrand, I thought I should rediscover and add another colour palette to the colour collection. Originally, the chosen colour palette has tones of green, [pink and yellow. However, as I was picturing how the new logo should look and the identity. I thought this new palette would be the most appropriate because the app is focused on a female-based audience. It is also not overbearing to look at and it has tones of subtleness and calmness.
