For our branding research, I looked at a few styles to kick off the production. I personally didn’t take part in this section, but I wanted to showcase a few ideas to our group and see what we could take forward.

Branding Research

The inspiration was followed by anything relatable to the words ‘storage’ and ‘lockers’ and even unrelated branding styles that could be used as inspiration. The idea was to find ways that ‘SafeKeep’ could be incorporated, especially as ‘SafeKeep’ focuses on elements of ‘fingerprints’ and ‘storage lockers'. And by this, I figured that the logo should be modern and clear to interpret.

Final Outcome

As our final outcome, Ryan and Erik decided a fingerprint should be as the final logo and collectively, we thought this is an idea since it showcases the purpose behind SafeKeep. It is a simple design, especially as it only includes elements of swirling lines which can be interpreted well. The wordmark underneath features a more futuristic look, showing its modernism and how advanced the ‘SafeKeep’ is. However, during the discussion about the logo, I personally said how the wordmark may be too unfitting. I think a more subtle look would be more appropriate, mainly because the typeface could be analysed differently and seen other than as a service created for storage items.

Colour Palette

There were two colour palettes we were going for, Ryan was in charge in the visual process and he had spoken about how he was unable to choose one he liked. And since Bebhionn and I were in charge of the prototype, I decided to test out which palette looked the most suitable by adding it on the prototypes. In the end, we chose Colour Palette One because the reds in the second palette deemed too alarming and alerting when added on the CTA elements. And we thought that yellow looked more relaxing and not ‘in your face’.
